How this estimate works

Uses the entered rates and payment timing. Taxes and unentered costs are excluded. Estimates are not offers or eligibility decisions. During deferral no payments or subsidies are assumed. Simple interest accrues on original principal and is capitalized once when repayment begins. Federal income-driven plans, forgiveness and program-specific rules are not modeled.
